Bio Mechanics of Yoga Asana with Flo Fenton
On this one day workshop, Flo Fenton will lead us through two flowing vinyasa style yoga sequences. Along the way, we will explore some of the fundemental bio-mechanical requirements of the body that enable beneficial and safe execution of commonly practiced asanas. This workshop will give all who attend a deeper insight into how to practice for maximum benefit, and for teachers, how to lead your students safely through their exploration of these postures.
The workshop is suitable for those with at least one year of yoga experience.
10am-1pm
The Spine-Standing Postures and Backbends.
Meditation and Pranayama will be included in this session.
In this session, we will focus on the bio-mechanics of the spine, especially as it relates to the standing postures and backbends.
2.30-4.30
The Hip Joint and Pelvis/Spine Connection-Forward Bends and Hip and Hamstring Openers
Relaxation/Yoga Nidra will be included in this session.
This session will look at the relationship between the hip joint, the pelvis and the spine, and how this relates to the forward bends and hip and hamstring stretches.

Another relaxing weekend at Pine Rivers Yoga, Cashmere. Great environment, lunch provided, great company. Accommodation can be provided on request.
Over this two day workshop, leading teacher Flo Fenton will guide us on a journey of understanding and discovery of the Pancha Kosha, or five layers of our being.
According to the Vedas, we humans are able to exist upon and experience 5 levels of reality, from very gross to extremely subtle. The ancient science of yoga, when properly applied, is our tool in the evolvution of our understanding, enabling an experience of the subtler levels of our own being, and beyond.
.Beginning at the physical layer, we will look at how to use the practice of yoga asana to most effectively benefit the body, via simple and balanced practice.
.Moving deeper into the level of the energy body, we will work with breath, mantra and mudra to help balance and awaken the five pranas, open the energy channels and unblock the chakras.
.Our clarity and state of mind will be fine-tuned using meditation practices, and deeper psychic cleansing practices such as yoga nidra.
.As a result of our efforts, we may glimpse the most subtle levels of our own being; our innate wisdom, and our natural state of bliss.
Schedule;
Each day will consist of a morning practice from 10am-1pm, and an afternoon practice from 2.30-4pm. Lunch provided.

Pine Rivers Yoga is a fabulous place to immerse oneself in the practices of yoga. A beautiful bushland setting provides the backdrop to our weekend, with great company and wonderful food. On-sire accommodation is available on request.
